Wakapou is an active participant in the local communities where it operates. In every location, we are committed to building long-term partnerships, creating a positive impact, and contributing to the community’s sustained well-being.
Wakapou partners with and supports marginalized small producers and rural women grouped in associations or co-operatives. We strive to enable them to move from income insecurity and poverty to economic self-sufficiency and ownership.
Concern for the social, economic and environmental well-being of marginalized small producers is at the heart of our business operations. We do not maximize profit at their expense.
Wakapou believes that fair prices provide fair pay to the producers and can also be sustained by the market. These prices are always set through dialogue and mutual agreement.
“Our farmers receive a fair price for quality products so they can reinvest in their crops and communities and achieve better health care, education, and quality of life”.
